Two wins at Jerez for Callum

"Callum MacLeod had a superb weekend at the penultimate round of The European Open F3 championship at a sunny and hot Jerez.

Fast throughout testing and qualifying, Callum started and finished 8th. overall in race one, but a clear winner in the Copa Dé´Spania class for 06 cars. His nearest rival did not finish so Callum regained the championship lead. In race two, a great start saw Callum up to 5th.overall, where he stayed to the finish, again dominating the Copa class, to score maximum points from the weekend.

He goes into this weekend´s races at Barcelona with a 14 point margin, so we are hoping to seal the championship in the first race. Speedsport boss Mike O´Brien said : we´re going to approach this weekend as normal, that is be as fast as we can in qualifying to start as high up the grid as possible and then, hopefully, be able to dictate the pace in the 06 class. Barcelona should be a good circuit for the team and Callum, so we will be pushing as hard as ever to gain victory.
