CHAMPIONSHIP REMAINS IN CALLUM'S HANDS AFTER MIXED FORTUNES AT BRANDS HATCH

Posted on Jul 16, 2007

After an eventful weekend at the Kent circuit Callum MacLeod comes away from Brands Hatch leading the championship by 78 points and 7 wins to his credit.

It was a great start to the weekend for the Jamun Racing team driver as he took the chequered flag to secure the race win in Round 10 after a series of incidents on the start/finish straight which left several cars badly damaged and a number of drivers fortunate to have escaped serious injury.

MacLeod was pleased with his performance: The start was frustrating but I just kept focused on the race and managed to get past Nick and take the win which was my objective for the weekend.

Rounds 11 and 12 however were more of a challenge for the Northampton based driver and he could only managed a fourth and third on the track come the chequered flag but managed to post the fastest lap in each event.

Callum MacLeod: It was a difficult weekend but I’m happy to have come away having extended my lead in the Championship. Without doubt I had the pace but it was pretty close on track and I just had to do the best job I could under the circumstances.

The next round of the British Formula Ford Championship will take place at Silverstone on the 11th and 12th August.
