CALLUM DOMINATES AT THRUXTON AND EDGES CLOSER TO THE BRITISH FORMULA FORD TITLE

Posted on Aug 28, 2007

Callum Macleod is showing that he is the man to beat in the 2007 British Formula Ford Championship.

After a dominant weekend at the Hampshire track, the Northampton based driver is now 110 points clear of his nearest rival, James Nash, with seven races remaining.

The Bank Holiday weekend event at Thruxton consisted of four races so it was a busy schedule for the 19 year old, but he rose to the challenge with a 3rd place and 3 wins.

Callum lead from pole position for the first race of the weekend but was soon under attack as the front running drivers fought it out for the lead. After a frantic race Callum was eventually beaten back into third at the last corner but was happy to collect championship points.

Battle commenced for the next three races in the blistering heat and it was close racing with less than two seconds covering the top four. Callum put in a superb performance securing his 9th, 10th and 11th wins of the year.

The next rounds will take place on the 8th & 9th September at Croft in Yorkshire.
