STILL LEADING DESPITE TRICKY SILVERSTONE WEEKEND

Posted on Aug 13, 2007

A non finish in the first race of the weekend for Callum Macleod at Silverstone was not the start the 19 year racer from Northampton had hoped for. Still it was round 13….

For the first time this year Callum failed to score any points from a race which he dominated from the start. After leading for 13 laps he was well on his way to securing his eighth win of the season when he collided with a backmarker which took both drivers out of the race.

However normal service soon resumed with a 2nd place finish in Round 14 and the top slot on the podium once again for Round 15.

“Not scoring any points was not ideal, but we knew we had the pace. We were quick in practice and as always the team did a great job. I was disappointed with the first race but just kept my head down and concentrated on what I had to do for the rest of the weekend”.

So after two fastest laps, a 2nd and 1st place finish on the Silverstone Circuit, Callum continues to lead the championship by 62 points.

The next event for British Formula Ford will be at Thruxton in Hampshire on the 25th & 26th August 2007.
