Speedsport hard at work this winter!

Oct 21st, 2011

The racing season is coming to an end, we've seen the end of British F3/GT, GP2/GP3 and last weekend was the BTCC season finale. But whilst racing comes to and end for 2011, the Speedsport team are already working hard and looking forward to 2012

In recent weeks we have been rebuilding the Caravelle MKII Formula Junior car that was crashed by Speedsport driver and Formula Junior race winner Callum Macleod on the streets of Pau. Callum was leading the race when he hit trouble under braking and ploughed head first into a steel armco barrier at 60mph. Luckily, Callum escaped the crash unharmed, however, the same cannot be said for the Caravelle. Having got the Chassis re-jigged and straightened out we are enjoying the task of piecing it all back together and hope to be out testing soon in preparation for a successful campaign in 2012.

Speedsport Drive trackdays have been going very well in recent months. We have run a number of corporate days for clients of ours who have all enjoyed driving the Silverstone GP circuit, sessions on the iZone simulator and high speed passenger rides from top professional racing drivers.

The Speedsport Gallery is also on the up, we have been selling more of our very unique motorsport memorabilia and have some fantastic new pieces on the website, to see our latest items please visit www.speedsportgallery.co.uk
