Silverstone to use ‘Arena’ Layout for 2010 GP

Feb 18th, 2010

Silverstone circuit is to use the new ‘Arena’ layout for the 2010 Formula 1 British Grand Prix.

The new layout was originally designed for and will be used for the 2010 Moto GP as well as the 2010 world superbike championship round at Silverstone. Organisers have decided to use it for the 2010 Formula 1 Grand Prix to try and improve opportunities for the F1 cars to overtake.

The new layout will leave the existing GP circuit at Abbey bend and lead into the new 'Arena' complex before rejoining the existing national circuit straight and back onto the original Grand Prix circuit's Brooklands bend.

The new layout will add 760 metres in length to the Grand Prix circuit, providing more opportunity for Formula one drivers, Moto GP riders and WSBK riders to make up or lose time whilst looking for those final hundredths of a second.

Please visit our World Superbike and Formula 1 British Grand Prix pages for information on what hospitality packages we can offer you to make sure you witness the inaugural races on this new layout of Silverstone Race Circuit in the very best way.
